If you’re in Quito, a visit to the Basílica del Voto Nacional is an absolute must. This impressive Gothic-style church is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, standing out with its dramatic towers and incredible views over Quito.

We loved exploring the interior and then climbing up to the towers, where you’re rewarded with panoramic views of the historic center and surrounding mountains. One of the coolest details is the unique gargoyles shaped like Ecuadorian animals, which gives the basilica so much character and makes it feel truly special.
