If you’re in Panama City and love fresh seafood, the Mercado de Marisco is the place to be. Located right by the Cinta Costera waterfront, it’s a lively spot full of local energy, with fishmongers, cevicherías, and small food stalls serving everything from fresh oysters to ceviche and fried fish. In this market there were a lot of people trying to get you in the door offering you free stuff so just walk around a bit and see which one is best for you!
We loved wandering around, taking in all the sights and smells, and then picking a stall to grab a bite. The ceviche here is incredible and super fresh, and it’s a fun way to taste the local flavors without having to sit in a fancy restaurant. There’s also a little seating area where you can enjoy your seafood while looking out over the water.
Most dishes are very affordable, usually around 3–10 USD, making it a cheap and delicious way to experience local seafood. If you’re in Panama City and want a lively, authentic seafood experience with amazing views, the Mercado de Marisco at the Cinta Costera is a must-visit.
