We loved eating at La Chaya Maya when we were in Mérida because it’s one of the best places to try authentic Yucatecan food in a comfortable, welcoming setting. From cochinita pibil and panuchos to relleno negro and sopa de lima, everything we tried was packed with flavour and really showed off the local cuisine. Prices are very reasonable, usually around 150–300 MXN per main dish, and the portions are generous.
