Just like Katy Perry sings, this place is hot and cold… haha, that was pretty dry, I know. Anyway, Hot 'n' Cold is a great free, naturally occurring hot spring creek where you can soak all your problems away. I actually prefer this spot over Kerosene Creek, which is just around the corner, for a couple of reasons. 

First, when you sit in hot water for too long, you start to overheat (obviously), but here, depending on where you sit in the creek, you can find different temperatures. So, when you start feeling too warm, you can move to a colder patch, and when you get chilly, you can head to the hotter streams. There’s also mud in the creek that you can slather on your skin, giving you that natural spa experience, basically the free version of Hell’s Gate Mud Spa. 

The only downside is the parking situation. There are a few spots on the shoulder of the road before and after the creek bridge, but it can get busy. I’d recommend arriving early to snag a spot or coming later in the afternoon. I showed up around 5 PM and had no problems finding a place to park.
