Walkerville South is a tiny coastal town with little more than a campsite, but it's worth a visit if you're in the area. After exploring Wilsons Prom, I headed here and discovered that this hidden gem is renowned for its fascinating sea caves and dramatic rock formations. The beach is perfect for a bit of adventure, with caves carved into the cliffs by relentless waves, creating a picturesque landscape ideal for both exploration and photography.
To make the most of your visit, plan your trip around the tides. The best time to explore the caves is at low tide when the intricate formations are fully accessible. Since these caves aren’t listed on Google Maps, you’ll need to do a bit of adventuring to find them. From the beach, walk left towards Bird Rock and continue for about 500 meters to reach the caves. Along the way, you'll pass striking rock formations, but be sure to check the tide schedule to avoid getting caught by the incoming waves on your return.
Beyond the caves, the beach offers a serene spot for a peaceful picnic or a leisurely stroll with stunning views of the rugged coastline. If you’re in the area, taking a detour to Walkerville South promises a unique and tranquil beach experience.
