The Neck Game Reserve Lookout on Bruny Island is absolutely worth every step of the climb. You’ll be tackling nearly 300 steps to reach the top, but the 360-degree views make it all worthwhile. From up there, you get to see the water on both sides of the isthmus connecting North and South Bruny Island, and the scenery is nothing short of epic.

As you ascend, keep an eye out for the island’s native wildlife, including short-tailed shearwaters and little penguins. Time your visit right, and you might catch these charming birds returning to their burrows in the sand dunes at dusk. The lookout also features a memorial to Truganini and the Nuenonne people, which adds a meaningful layer to your visit. It’s a must-stop spot to fully appreciate the unique landscape and rich heritage of Bruny Island.
