Dawson Falls is such an easy win if you’re exploring Taranaki. It’s one of those spots where you barely have to put in any effort, and you still get an epic 18-meter waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. From the carpark, it’s just a short 700-meter walk (one way), and you’ve got two options, check out the lookout for a great overhead view or head down to the base, where you can get up close and feel the waterfall mist on your face. I really liked these falls. Simple, beautiful, and definitely worth the quick stop. If you’re already here, I’d also recommend checking out Wilkies Pools, which start from the same carpark.
