The Forest Caves on Phillip Island are a fantastic stop during your island adventure. These vibrant sea caves, painted in hues of red and orange, are definitely worth checking out with them being shaped by the wild Bass Strait over millions of years. Just remember, timing is everything here, visit at low tide. If you come during high tide, you won’t be able to explore under and through the caves; instead, you'll only be able to climb on top and watch the waves crashing in through the openings above.

To get to the caves, you’ll need to walk along the beach for a few hundred meters from the car park. Once you head left down the stairs to the beach, you’ll easily spot the jagged rocks standing out against the golden sand. After exploring the caves, be sure to walk a bit further to admire the vibrant red rocks, which are dotted with unique divots filled with pebbles. It’s a cool and distinctive feature! So, enjoy this spot and make sure to check the tide times before heading out for your cave adventure.
