If you're exploring the geothermal wonders of Rotorua and want to soak in some naturally heated water without the expensive price tag, this is the place to be. The only downside? It’s pretty stinky, haha. But hey, it’s a small price to pay for a free hot spring experience.

The creek is naturally hot, and you can chill in warm water surrounded by bush vibes. To get here, you’ll need to drive a few kilometers down a dirt road (nothing too dodgy, just watch out for potholes). Once you arrive, it’s a short walk along the creek to the falls. Most people hang out by the waterfall, where it’s shallow, maybe knee-deep so you can just sit and relax. If you’re after a bit more seclusion, though, you can venture upstream or downstream to find a quieter, private hot pool. Definitely a great free option to unwind.
