Alright, first up, this spot is pretty deep into Abel Tasman National Park and not the easiest to get to. You’ve gotta be walking part of the Abel Tasman Coast Track to reach Cleopatra’s Pool. It’s tucked away between Torrent Bay and Anchorage, and this natural rock pool has a mossy slide that’s ace for a cool dip on a hot day. The water’s fresh and cold, so be ready for that shock when you jump in.

The walk to get here is part of some of the best scenery in the park, you’ll pass lush forest, golden beaches, and maybe even spot some birdlife. Because it’s off the main track and takes some effort, it’s usually pretty quiet and peaceful. Heaps of locals told me it’s a must-see, and it’s definitely worth the walk if you’ve got the time and energy.
