Alright, I don’t usually add accommodation spots because 99.9% of the time I’m camping in my van but if you’re after something a little more luxurious, this one’s seriously adorable. In full transparency, this stay was gifted to me. It’s $790 for two nights with a two-night minimum, so definitely more of a splurge than a budget stop.

That said, if you’re celebrating something special like a romantic getaway or an anniversary, Willowbrook Retreat is such a lovely pick. It’s about an hour out of Queenstown and feels totally tucked away in the countryside, surrounded by farmland. Proper “switch off and chill out” vibes.

It was such a nice break from van life and the perfect reset after bouncing around the South Island. If you’re looking to treat yourself with something peaceful, scenic, and a bit magical, Willowbrook definitely hits the spot.
