Peters Pool in Franz Josef is a top little spot to check out if you’re on the West Coast. It’s a kettle lake formed by the glacier as it pulled back, and the still water often creates beautiful reflections of the surrounding trees and mountains. The walk from the main car park is short and flat, and just 1.1km return and about 15 minutes, making it easy for everyone. Definitely don’t miss this spot when you’re exploring Franz Josef!
