Python Pool is a gem of a swimming spot in Millstream Chichester National Park, tucked at the base of the Chichester Range. This place is as cool as its name suggests, the pool earned its iconic name from the elusive pythons that occasionally slither around the area, though don’t worry, they're more shy than menacing! The pool itself is a deep, inviting hole of refreshingly cool water surrounded by rugged rock formations, with a seasonal waterfall adding a touch of magic. It’s the perfect spot to take a dip on a hot day.

The walk to Python Pool is part of the adventure, with the 2.7km return Python Pool trail guiding you through some beautiful scenery. If you’re up for a bit more exploration, the Cameleers Trail offers even more of the park’s rugged beauty. Just keep in mind that while Python Pool is fantastic, you’ll want to be cautious depending on the season. During rainy periods, currents and debris can make swimming risky, and in the dry season, algae blooms can affect the water quality. Also, stay aware of your surroundings as you walk; while snakes are rarely seen, it’s always good to be cautious.
