Visiting Cedar Creek Falls near Airlie Beach is like discovering a hidden tropical paradise. The drive to this natural wonder is a scenic adventure through lush rainforest, teasing you with glimpses of the beauty that awaits. When you finally arrive, the 50-meter-tall waterfall is nothing short of spectacular. It cascades dramatically into a crystal-clear pool, creating a refreshing oasis that's perfect for a swim.
The surrounding rocks are perfect for lounging and sunbathing, letting you bask in the serene atmosphere while enjoying the gentle mist from the falls. Though it’s a popular spot and you might share it with other visitors, the experience remains magical. For those up for a bit of adventure there is a short path going up the falls that does involve some rock scrambling to reach where you will find a mini pool and smaller falls for a more secluded chill-out spot.
During my visit, there were signs indicating that swimming was closed due to a rare crocodile sighting in the area. It’s always a good idea to check for any notices before you dive in. So pack some snacks, take in the stunning views, and enjoy the tranquility of these Falls.
