Jenny Lake is one of the most iconic spots in Grand Teton National Park, and even though the water looks incredibly inviting, it stays extremely cold even when I visited at the end of August. While it’s not the best lake for swimming, the scenery around the lake is absolutely stunning and the hikes in this area offer some of the best views in the park, also there are some wildlife in the area.

The combination of crystal-clear water, mountain reflections, and dramatic Teton peaks makes this one of the most photogenic places in Grand Teton. Whether you take the boat shuttle across the lake or hike around the shoreline, the entire area feels scenic almost the entire time. This is also one of the busiest areas in the park during summer, so arriving early helps a lot with parking and enjoying the trails before larger crowds arrive.
