Nami Island is one of Korea’s most famous day trips, loved for its tree-lined paths, cozy cafés, and as the filming location of the hit K-drama Winter Sonata. It makes a perfect day out from Seoul, especially when combined with nearby attractions like The Garden of Morning Calm, Petite France & Italian Village, or the Gapyeong Rail Park.

Getting to Gapyeong Station (Gateway to Nami Island)
You have two options for getting to Nami Island. Taking the subway or the subway + ITX train. Subway is cheaper and more frequent. ITX is faster and more comfortable.

Option 1: Subway Only

  • From Myeongdong Station → Transfer twice → Gapyeong Station (가평역)

  • 80–90 mins | ₩2,400

Option 2: Subway + ITX Train (Faster & More Comfortable)

  • Myeongdong Station → Cheongnyangni Station (청량리역) (~25 mins, ₩1,400)

  • Walk 3 mins to Cheongnyangni Train Station (Exit 4)

  • Take ITX Train to Gapyeong Station (~39 mins, ₩5,700)

  • ITX tickets can be booked on Korail’s website and are included in the Korail Pass.

Extra Tip: If you’re closer to Yongsan Station (용산역), you can also catch the ITX there (55 mins, ₩6,900).
