Cha-teul is a century-old traditional teahouse tucked right into the heart of Bukchon Hanok Village. Step inside and you’ll immediately feel transported back in time — floor seating on warm wooden floors with traditional cushions, wide hanok windows opening to mountain views, and a peaceful glimpse over the tiled rooftops of the village. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down and soak in the charm of old Seoul.
The menu leans into tradition, offering classic Korean treats like yugwa (crispy popped rice snacks) and danpatjuk (sweet red bean porridge). Their tea selection is incredible too, ranging from earthy red ginseng tangerine peel tea to the restorative ssanghwa tea, a traditional herbal “medicine” brew. A pot of tea costs between 9,000 and 26,000 KRW (~USD 7–20), and sharing a pot alongside a few snacks feels like the perfect way to take a break while wandering Bukchon.
