Seoul Forest is one of those places that makes you forget you’re in the middle of a busy city. Think of it as Seoul’s version of Central Park — not as massive, but just as full of charm. It’s the kind of spot you can spend a slow morning or afternoon in, wandering between deer-feeding areas, art installations, and quiet walking paths. Each season feels completely different here: cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, golden ginkgo trees in fall, and crisp, quiet paths in winter.

Address & Location:

  • Address: 서울 성동구 뚝섬로 273

  • Naver map: https://naver.me/FN7XP1qD

  • Hours: General Park: Open 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week, Eco Forest Area: 05:30 to 21:30

  • There are 16 different ways that you can enter the forest, but if you enter from the main area, you'll see the Seoul Forest Information Center when you enter. You can rent a stroller or use the facilities like exhibition hall, library, or nursing room which are also attached to the same building. Strollers can be rented free of charge, you just need to provide a form of ID as a deposit to the staff when renting, which you will get back to you once you return the stroller.

  • Because Seoul Forest is so big, I recommend making sure you have enough water and snacks before you walk around. It may be hard to find a place to get water or food nearby once you start walking inside the park area.

  • Adjacent from the entrance located next to Exit 3 of Seoul Forest Station - you can rent a Ddareungi bike via the app. ⚠️ Tip: Always stick to the marked bike lanes, and dismount inside pedestrian-only areas in the park.

Recommended Route
Hop off at Seoul-forest Station (Line 2, Exit 3) and take the skywalk directly into the park. You’ll land right by the central lawn and Mirror Lake. Restrooms and water fountains are nearby, so this is a good moment to reset before you dive in.
👉 Pro tip: If you’re coming with kids or a picnic, drop your stuff on the central lawn—it’s open, flat, and makes an easy meeting point.

Mirror Lake & Central Lawn
Start with a slow lap around Mirror Lake. On calm days, the reflections of the sky and surrounding trees are gorgeous. It’s also one of the best “orientation” spots to get a feel for the park.
📸 Photo tip: Come back here near golden hour—the water glows with warm light and it’s one of the prettiest scenes in the park.

Ginkgo/Cherry Paths
Depending on the season, this is where Seoul Forest really shines. In spring, walk down the cherry blossom lanes. In autumn, the Ginkgo Forest blazes gold.
📸 For photos: shoot straight down the rows of trees. Step a few meters off the main path so you don’t get caught in the crowd lines behind you.

Eco-Forest (Deer Corral)
Follow the signs into the shaded forest and you’ll find the deer enclosure—yes, real deer in the middle of Seoul! There are feed machines that take coins or small bills.
👉 Etiquette tip: keep your hand flat when feeding, and never toss plastic or trash near the fence.

Butterfly Conservatory
If it’s open (note: closed Mondays), pop into the glasshouse. Inside you’ll find tropical plants and fluttering butterflies—it feels like stepping into a mini jungle. Great if the weather’s bad or if you just need a quiet break. If the shutters are down, skip ahead.

Wood Decks & Shaded Walks
Loop along the forest boardwalks. These wooden paths are shaded, quieter, and lined with benches. It’s a lovely place to slow down.
🥪 Picnic tip: If you’ve picked up snacks before entering, this is the perfect shady spot to lay out a mat and recharge.

Cross to Under Stand Avenue
At the park’s edge, take the pedestrian bridge to Under Stand Avenue, a shipping-container cultural complex. Expect indie shops, streetwear pop-ups, and cafés. It’s quirky and makes for a fun contrast with the calm of the park.

Exit
Head back via the bridge to Seoul-forest Station (Exit 3). If you timed it right, finish with a sunset view over Mirror Lake.

60–90 Minute Quick Loop (if you’re tight on time)

Exit 3 → Mirror Lake → Ginkgo/Blossom path → Deer Corral → Boardwalks → back to Exit 3.
👉 You’ll still hit the signature spots without rushing too much.

Tips

  • Food & Drink: Bring a picnic or grab coffee/pastries from Seoul Forest Cafe street.

  • Seasonal Tips:

    • Spring: Hit blossom paths first (they crowd up quickly).

    • Summer: Start with shaded boardwalks; avoid midday heat.

    • Autumn: Prioritize the Ginkgo Forest.

    • Winter: Conservatory + Seoul forest cafes

  • What to Bring: Coins for deer feed, bug spray (summer), picnic mat

  • Etiquette: Carry out trash if bins are full, keep off planted beds, give space to wedding/photo shoots.

  • Closed Mondays: Some facilities (like the conservatory) may not be open—plan your loop accordingly.
