Baltray or County Louth Golf Club is one of the best links courses on Ireland's east coast and was the site of Shane Lowry's famous Irish Open win as an amateur in 2009.

A lot of the links courses on the east coast of Ireland don't have spectacular views as there is usually a dune/bank separating you from the sea which is the case at Baltray but this place is still beautiful. The golf course success is well designed and is one where you try to do your scoring on the first 6 holes then hang on for dear life for the remaining 12.

Baltray is a must play if you're staying around the Dublin area for a golf trip.
