Castlerock Golf Club isn't quite in the same league as Portrush and Royal County Down but it's the perfect settler to have either early in the trip as you acclimatise to links golf and the area or somewhere in the middle of your trip. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful golf course with some iconic par 3's, notably on the front 9 with a couple of holes that hug the railroad track.

The highlight of the round comes as you stand elevated on the tee of the par 5 18th where on a clear day you can see Scotland on one side and Ireland's most northern tip in Donegal on the other. Castlerock is a brilliant golf course and given it's close proximity to Portrush I would absolutely recommend adding it to your Northern Ireland golf trip
