Western Gailes is the 2nd hardest golf course in Scotland and it's a wonder that it's never hosted The Open. I hadn't heard all that much about it before playing here so I was taken aback at just how good it is.

The golf course is difficult but not unplayable and there's no doubt it's one of the best links courses you will find anywhere. The clubhouse is beautiful and I would recommend checking out the little golf museum upstairs.
