Donegal is possibly Ireland's most beautiful county (alongside Kerry and Wicklow) and is part of the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way.
I'm a massive fan of this golf course. It's generally ranked somewhere around the top 20 golf courses in Ireland and it deserves it's place in that top 20. Donegal Golf Club is set right on Murvagh beach with views of the hills of Donegal on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other this place is stunning. When you get out towards the sea you can look out and see the oyster farms in the bay.
The golf course has always been strong but Paul McGinley has been brought in to elevate the golf course in recent years. The subtle changes he has made have absolutely enhanced the quality of this place.
Donegal Golf Club can be included in 2 possible trips:
If you're playing other Donegal courses like Rosapenna, Portsalon, Cruit Island and/or Ballyliffin
If you're playing the west coast courses like Rosses Point, Strandhill, Carne or Enniscrone
I would highly recommend adding Donegal to your golf trip.
