Lahinch is known as the St.Andrews of Ireland because you've got a world class golf course that sits right in the town. There's something very cool about standing in the beer garden of a nearby pub, pint of Guinness in hand as you cast your eye over towards one of the best golf courses in the world.
I would argue the town of Lahinch is possibly the best overall golf town in Ireland. The golf course itself is phenomenal and usually ranks in the top 5 in the country and rightly so. Every year, Lahinch hosts the famous South of Ireland Championship that has been won by Darren Clarke, Paul McGinley and Padraig Harrington and in 2025 it was won by a local caddied Jonathan Keane which is the first time a local had won it since 1968.
A game of golf in the morning/afternoon followed by a sunset dip/surf at the beach before you step into one of the brilliant local pubs for a few pints of Guinness will be a day you never forget.
