This is possibly the best golf course in the world.

When you get out to the stretch of holes between 7th-11th where each hole plays along the coast with the famous lighthouse in view you will be walking arguably the greatest stretch of golf holes in the world.

The famous Ailsa course has hosted many Open Championships over the years including the Duel in the Sun between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus. Tom Watson was involved again at another famous Open here in 2009 where a par at the last would have seen him crowned as the oldest major champion in history at age 59. A bogey meant a playoff that was won by Stewart Cink.

The golf course has been upgraded since the last Open held here which has seen the course be elevated from a great Open Championship golf course to possibly the best golf course in the world.
