Founded in London by Rob Green — whose love of Sri Lankan food and surfing eventually brought him to Newquay in 2017 — Pavilion is housed in a converted lifeboat shed on Fore Street and is one of the best cafés in Cornwall. The counter heaves with sourdough loaves, almond croissants, cardamom buns, pain au raisin and pain au chocolat, all made in-house with serious attention to detail. The coffee is exceptional. Cooked specials showcase the same creativity — Sri Lankan dahl, crab sandwiches on toasted sourdough, seasonal small plates. Evening openings run a vegetable-forward small plates menu from 6pm. Click and collect available online. Dog-friendly. Rated #5 coffee spot in Newquay on TripAdvisor. At 37 Fore Street.
