Founded in 2021 by Nat Galliano-Hale and Anna Gerrans, Gorse has grown from a small wholesale operation into one of the most talked-about bakeries in Cornwall — listed in the Good Food Guide and with 35K Instagram followers. Now based at Lanteague Studios, a community of small businesses near Zelah between Newquay and Truro, the Nordic-inspired café is designed entirely from locally felled and milled wood. Bread is the star — spelt sourdough, baguettes, sourdough pide flatbreads — alongside exceptional pastries: cruffins, raspberry bostock, cinnamon buns, doughnuts. Coffee from Foundation Coffee Roasters in St Ives, milk from Trink Dairy. You can watch the bakers at work from the counter. Occasional Supper Clubs in season. Open Monday to Friday 7:30am–2pm, Saturday 8am–2pm, Sunday 9am–1pm. Bread available Tuesday to Sunday. Dog-friendly.
