One of the most photographed places in Cornwall — a series of enormous rock stacks striding across the beach below dramatic cliffs between Newquay and Padstow, managed by the National Trust. Legend says the stacks were stepping stones used by a giant named Bedruthan, though the story was almost certainly invented to delight Victorian tourists. The clifftop views are spectacular year-round, carpeted with sea pinks and kidney vetch in spring. Note that the steps down to the beach have been closed since a rock fall in 2019 with no confirmed reopening date — but the clifftop walk and views remain as dramatic as ever.
