Directions

A tucked-away sandy cove just a short walk from the centre of Fowey, sheltered by cliffs on both sides and overlooked by the 16th century ruins of St Catherine’s Castle. The cove is boat-free with a bathing platform moored in the bay, making it ideal for swimming. Above the beach is the former coach house where Daphne du Maurier lived during the Second World War — and the coastal walk from here towards Polridmouth passes the shipwreck that inspired the ending of Rebecca. No dogs in July and August between 10am–6pm.
