A breezy blue-and-white former coastguard station on the edge of Mousehole, owned by brothers Charles and Edmund Inkin — the same team behind The Gurnard’s Head. Fourteen individually styled bedrooms, nearly all with sea views towards St Michael’s Mount and the Lizard; some with balconies. The restaurant is Michelin listed, with well-executed brasserie dishes with a Mediterranean edge — charred leeks with almond cream, beef ragu with pappardelle — and a wine list that won IWC UK Wine List of the Year. The subtropical terraced garden, sloping down to the sea with views to St Clement’s Isle, is one of the finest spots in west Cornwall for a drink. The informal Crab Shack operates at the water’s edge in season. Live music every Saturday. Dog and child-friendly. Book ahead for weekends.
