A privately owned cove on the edge of Newquay, sheltered by 200-foot cliffs that form a natural amphitheatre around a stretch of golden sand. Crowned Beach of the Year 2017 by The Sunday Times, and consistently one of the most photographed beaches in Cornwall. Free and open to the public for much of the year — access is via 133 steep steps from the clifftop car park. Restaurant and bar directly on the sand, with fresh seafood and views straight out to sea. One of the best surf spots in Newquay Bay, picking up the biggest swells. Hosts weddings, music events and private hires throughout the summer — check the events calendar before visiting as the beach occasionally closes. Lifeguards July to September. Dogs welcome all year in the restaurant; seasonal restrictions on the sand June to September. The Blend van at the top of the steps serves coffee and food in season.
