Cala Ambolo is one of those secret-spots people whisper about. Tucked beneath steep cliffs near Cabo de la Nao, it’s known for its wild, unspoiled vibe and amazing turquoise water that’s perfect for snorkelling. The cove is mostly gravel and stones, edged by rocky cliffs and backed by Mediterranean scrub, creating a truly natural escape. This beach was officially a nudist cove and still holds that free, relaxed feel. Though swimwear is fine too. There are no facilities: no lifeguards, no sunbed rentals, no umbrellas or cafés directly on the beach. To get here, you follow a winding road and park roadside. Then there’s a descent of about 10-15 minutes via stairs and gravel paths. Footwear is strongly recommended.

Important note: access by land is currently closed due to the risk of rockfalls and landslides. The town hall has put up barriers and warnings. So if you want to see Cala Ambolo, the viewpoint above is a safer bet or you might reach it by boat or kayak, if those are options. If you go early, outside the peak summer months, the view (from above or from the sea) feels almost sacred, like nature paused just for you.
