Another huge bonus is that Van Damme State Park is within walking distance, making this an ideal base for exploring Fern Canyon, a relaxing beach, and shaded redwood hikes without driving or fighting for parking. You can hike in the morning, relax in the afternoon, and still be back in time for sunset.
