I’m a sucker for a good alpine lake, and Convict Lake is one of the best I’ve been to. The scenery is dramatic, the water is the perfect shade of blue, and the mountain backdrop is one of those views that’ll stick with you for a lifetime!

You can hike around the lake’s perimeter, rent a stand-up paddleboard, or both! Whatever you do, Convict Lake is one of those Sierra Nevada gems with a commanding presence you won’t want to miss.
