UPDATE: From summer 2025, Shadow Lake Lodge does no longer offer all inclusive dining. Guests now have to bring their own food, but have access to fully equipped communal kitchen. The cabins remain private. While it was amazing to experience backcountry with all inclusive dining, this change has led to a significant decrease in prices.

Shadow Lake Lodge is a backcountry lodge in the wilderness of Banff NP, only accessible via hiking, biking, skiing or snowshoeing. Staying here means being surrounded by incredible nature as well as elevated backcountry facilities - we're talking heated washrooms and showers as well as fully equipped kitchen.

The lodge is typically opened from late June to late September for summer/fall season, and late January to early April for winter season, weather dependent. To get to the lodge, it is a 14 km hike, ski, or snowshoe from the trailhead.
