HIKE OVERVIEW

Keep an eye out for shipwrecks this morning between Sennen and Land's End. In 2003, the RMS Mulheim, a 294 ft German cargo vessel, ran aground in Gamper Bay, and that's where it's been ever since! If you're hiking on a clear day, you should get a good view from the Coast Path.

Today’s hike is a stunning section of the Coast Path, just a few miles from Sennen, and you'll reach Land's End, a famous headland and one of Britain’s best-loved landmarks.

As the path continues, you'll be hiking along high cliffs and exposed windswept heath. You’re in for a treat this afternoon with a visit to the world-famous Minack theatre! The Minack Theatre is an open-air theatre carved into a granite cliff and set in glorious gardens overlooking the spectacular panorama of Porthcurno Bay.

Incredible geological formations, including offshore rock stacks and rippling cliffs, add to the sheer drama of the landscape, undoubtedly some of the best of the entire Coast Path!

🌱 LUNCH TIP

You could grab a vegan pasty in Sennen this morning before you leave, or have a late lunch at the cafe at The Minack Theatre, which usually has at least one or two vegan options.

TRAIL TIP

Birds such as fulmars, shags, rock pipits and occasional peregrine falcons can be seen along this stretch and the incredible geological formations, including offshore rock stacks and rippling cliffs, it’s a spectacular section, keep your binoculars and camera at the ready.

MAKE SURE TO

Have a planned departure time this morning so that you arrive at the Minnack theatre in time for your scheduled visit and a possible late lunch.

I would recommend giving yourself at least an hour to see the theatre, if you're lucky, you'll arrive for a storytelling session!

DINNER TIP

Today's dinner needs a little pre-planning because the nearest pub to your bed and breakfast is the Logan Rock Inn, which is a 1.5-mile walk so here the dinner options:

• Walk to the Logan Rock Inn and back, be careful on the main road section, I would recommend taking a head torch

• See if the cafe at the Minnack Theatre has anything to take away
