Today’s trail winds through a wild and rugged landscape dotted with dramatic rock formations and hidden, postcard-perfect coves as you make your way toward the striking headland of Gunnard’s Head. From there, you’ll hike on to the historic Pendeen Lighthouse, standing guard since 1900 over one of Britain’s most treacherous and awe-inspiring stretches of coastline.
You’ll finish at Pendeen lighthouse and wrap up the day with a gentle stroll inland toward the welcoming village of Pendeen, where the sea air and scenery linger long after your vegan hiking boots come off for the day!
🌱 LUNCH TIP
You should have ordered the Hummus sandwich (or similar) in Zennor the night before for today’s lunch.
You’ll have a great and filling vegan breakfast at the Whitehouse in Zennor before you set off, and you should have snacks that you picked up in St Ives that will take you through to lunch.
TRAIL TIP
There are some rocky areas and a few more hills than yesterday, but overall it's a beautiful hike.
There is a lovely beach at Portheras Cove just before the Pendeen Lighthouse that you could swim at today - no changing places though, so you have to pre-plan and take a towel or just swim in your underwear and dry out in the sun!
MAKE SURE TO
Take some time to sit and enjoy the views looking for Choughs. These birds are easy to identify but hard to spot! The Chough is a distinctive-looking black bird with a bright red beak and legs found in small populations along the British and Irish coastlines.
