As you set off from Porthcurno this morning, this beach is hard to ignore — a wide curve of pale sand tucked between steep cliffs, where the sea shifts from glassy turquoise to deep Atlantic blue!

Early in the morning, before the day-trippers arrive, it’s often empty but for a few swimmers and early morning surfers trying to catch a wave.

If you're tempted, it’s worth the short detour down for a quick dip or to simply feel the cold sand between your toes before the hike toward the Lamorna begins. This is your last easy access to the sea for a while — take a moment to enjoy it.
