HIKE OVERVIEW

Get your vegan hiking boots ready, you’re off!

A gentle walk out of St Ives to Clodgy Point soon becomes a roller coaster of hills as the Coast Path plunges down towering cliffs into beautiful coves and back up again as you hike toward Zennor.

The landscape today is beautifully wild and rugged, as you hike toward Zennor Head keep an eye out for dolphins in the coves below.

Today’s hike will finish in the small village of Zennor which is known as an area of outstanding natural beauty, you’ll have some time to look around St Senara’s 1400-year-old church before heading to your bed and breakfast for the night.

🌱 LUNCH TIP

Definitely grab snacks and a delicious vegan pasty in St Ives for lunch en route today so that you can hike at a steady pace and enjoy the trail, vegan picnics are the best!

I found that I was hungry enough to eat at around midday and enjoyed every bite of that pasty whilst watching the waves lapping up against the shore beneath me.

Take note: There are no shops in Zennor, so stock up on whatever you need in St Ives.

TRAIL TIP

Make good use of your hiking poles today, there are some serious boulders and stony sections on the hike towards Zennor. If it’s raining, be extra careful and just go at your own pace across the rocky sections.

MAKE SURE TO

Visit St Senara's Church opposite the B&B and find out about the legend of the Zennor Mermaid, you might even have a view of the church from your room! Thought to be around 1400 years old, this small church is well worth a visit.

Don’t forget your wallet! They have lovely postcards you can buy with self-service payment options, cards accepted. Get a postcard, a nice cold drink and find spot in the pub garden.

🌱 DINNER TIP

You'll be having dinner at the B&B/Pub where you're staying, I would recommend booking your dinner and breakfast time when you check in.

TO DO BEFORE YOU SET OFF ON TODAY'S HIKE:

  1. Pick up fruit, snacks etc at the Co-op supermarket

  2. Pick up a vegan pasty for lunch at the Cornish bakery as you're walking through town

  3. Maybe pre-order some vegan cupcakes from Yvettes Pantry (see separate pin), they are so worth it!

  4. Check the weather on the Met Office app/website & charge up electrics
