What to order
Our local friend and Porto food tour guide, Pedro, recommends choosing one of the fresh whole fish grilled over charcoal. Ask your server what’s freshest that day and pick from the fish on display.
Why it’s here
We haven’t eaten here ourselves, but when Taberna São Pedro closes for its annual summer holidays, this is where Pedro recommends instead. Located in Matosinhos, it’s known for incredibly fresh seafood, outdoor charcoal grills and the same simple style of cooking that makes this area famous.
Tip
If Taberna São Pedro is closed, this is the alternative we’d choose. Like many restaurants in Matosinhos, the freshest fish changes daily, so don’t just stick to the menu, ask what’s just come in and let the staff guide you. Around €30 to €45 per person for a full meal and wine.
