What to order:
The steak and salmorejo are our go-to orders here. Salmorejo is a thick Andalusian tomato soup topped with jamón and egg, and one of the region’s most iconic dishes.
Why it’s here:
Located in the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, La Bartola was one of the first tapas bars we visited in Seville back in 2023 and we’ve returned several times since. While it’s become much more popular in recent years and now attracts plenty of tourists, the food remains consistently excellent and it’s still one of our favourite places to recommend in the city.
Tip:
Expect queues, especially at peak meal times. On our most recent visit in May 2026 there was a line throughout much of the day. It’s not possible to book so either arrive early, eat later in the evening, or be prepared to wait for a table. Despite the popularity, we still think it’s worth it.
