If you adventure out to Upana Caves, you'll be driving past the small village of Gold River.

Originally a thriving logging and pulp industry community, Gold River faced challenges when the mill closed in 1998, leading many residents to relocate. Since then, the village has shifted its focus to tourism and sport fishing, taking advantage of its stunning natural surroundings.

With picturesque mountains, lakes, rivers, and forests, Gold River now serves as a base for outdoor activities like hiking, mountain climbing, and exploring the historic Yuquot, or "Friendly Cove."
