Tintern Abbey, located in County Wexford, Ireland, was founded around 1200 by William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, after surviving a storm at sea. The abbey, now in ruins but partially restored, was home to Cistercian monks from Tintern in Wales. After the Dissolution of the Monasteries, it passed through various hands before conservation efforts began in the 20th century. Today, visitors can explore the historic site and learn about its rich history and connection to the Colclough family.
