Lion’s Head Hike – Cape Town 🦁🌄

One of Cape Town’s most iconic hikes, this 5 km return trail offers some of the best views we’ve experienced anywhere in the world. From the summit, you’re rewarded with a 360° panoramic view, really showing off just how beautiful Cape Town is.
The hike takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on pace and photo stops.
Fitness level is moderate, with a few chain ladders and steeper sections near the end, but they’re fairly easy and we’ve often seen young children complete this hike.
The trail is free with no permit required — just avoid hiking in the dark unless you’re in a large group for safety.
