Back Beach, located on Centennial Drive in New Plymouth, is a beautiful black sand beach and is one of New Zealand's top-rated beaches! Popular with surfers but take care if swimming as there are no life guards.
Park at the top near Paritutu rock and walk down a steep set of stairs to reach a secluded bay or drive further down to where the surfers park.
