Built in 1941, the Cape Reinga Lighthouse is an icon of New Zealand. Standing atop a rugged coastline in the Northland Region, this lighthouse shines its light out over the Tasman Sea for 19 nautical miles. It was the last manned lighthouse to be built in New Zealand, and was a replacement for the Cape Maria Van Diemen Lighthouse which dated back to 1879. This majestic landmark brings bright hope with its beacon of light, reminding us all that anything is possible.
