This charming cafe-restaurant has a lot of history to tell! Established in Lisbon in 1782, a little less than 27 years after the earthquake that devastated the city, Café Martinho da Arcada is the oldest still operating in the Portuguese capital.

In addition to a privileged location, facing Praça do Comércio ("Commerce Square"), it has a table eternally reserved for Fernando Pessoa, a historic frequent customer of the café and one of the greatest poets in the Portuguese language of all times, who has lived between 1888 and 1935.
