Palácio Nacional de Sintra (Sintra National Palace) is a 15th century construction, which is part of the cultural landscape of the city of Sintra, and, therefore, part of an UNESCO World Heritage Site. For centuries, it served as a residence of the Portuguese royal family and was the first place in the country to ever receive tiles that were procured all the way from Spain, inaugurating a cultural and artistic tradition in Portugal.

This is undoubtedly one of the most important tourist attractions in Sintra!

The palace was built in the same place where there once were a fortification developed by the Moorish occupation, during the Medieval period. It congregates multiple architectonic styles, namely, medieval, Gothic, Manueline, Renaissance and Romanticism.
