Praia da Marinha ("Marinha beach") is among the top 100 beaches in the world, having been elected one of the top 10 beaches in Europe. It is also known as praia dourada ("golden beach") and is located in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal. The water is flat, with no or very tiny waves and the tall cliffs embrace the entire place, which generates an interesting acoustic effect.

The water ranges from light blue and green tones all the way to darker colors and is home to natural golden rocky sculptures, which provide this beautiful beach with an natural artistic atmosphere. Once you get to Praia da Marinha, there is a long stairway that leads you all the way down to the sand strip.
