Praia do Guincho ("Guincho beach") is one of the highlights of Cascais. It is a natural paradise for surfers, bodyboarders, kitesurfers, windsurfers and beach lovers in general. Situated in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, it is characterized by strong winds and waves as well as by white sand dunes contrasting with the Sintra hills in the background.

Along Praia do Guincho, there are several restaurants specialized in fish and seafood, fresh from the Portuguese sea. This is a very well preserved beach, with multiple conservation projects protecting native flora and fauna species. Praia do Guincho is easily accessible by car, but also by a couple of bus lines (#405 or #415).
