The village of Arraiolos is a hidden pearl in the countryside of Portugal, in the district of Évora, in the Alentejo region. It is home to an astonishing medieval castle dating back to the early 14th century, Castelo de Arraiolos ("Arraiolos Castle"), one of the few such fortifications in the world with a circular floor plan.

The castle's walls serve like a 360º viewpoint to the unique Alentejo landscape.

The ideal way to get there is by private car.
